Do you know the Grayl GeoPress? This water purifier is a staple in the Grayl family. The Grayl Water Filter comes with a few pros and cons, but it can filter out protozoa, bacteria, and best of all, viruses!

This water purification system has a 65-gallon filter capacity which may be limiting for some people. However, it also filters out heavy metals like lead or arsenic, organic chemicals such as chlorine or benzene, and particulates like sediment and microplastics.

As we move into 2022, there are a lot of things that we can be thankful for. Technology is one of them. Now I may have a love-hate relationship with technology, but there are good things that come from it. The fact that we have the Grayl GeoPress Water purifying system is a great example of how technology has afforded us really good clean water!

A New Age of Water!

Grayl is a company that has been around for over 20 years. They are known for their Grayl Ultralight, and Ultrapress water purifiers. But the GeoPress is the largest in the Grayl family. It’s easy to use and simple to prime too! I would recommend 3-5 cycles of clean tap water to prime the filter.

The purifier cartridge is non-woven ceramic fibers that provide a structure for both the ion exchange and activated carbon. The ion exchange works as a magnet for molecules. And the Activated carbon helps purify the larger particles. This helps it remove 99.9% of gerardia and amoebas. Removing bacterias like E. coli and dysentery by 99. 9999%. As well as viruses like rotavirus and hepatitis-A by 99.99%.

You can’t go wrong with the GeoPress!

This water purification system has a 65-gallon filter capacity. It takes eight seconds to press 24 ounces of purified drinking water. Grayl’s are perfect for travel, hiking, or camping! The GeoPress will be your best friend in any situation where you need clean drinking water like in an emergency.

If you’re looking for an easy-to-use, fast, and reliable water purifier, look no further than the Grayl GeoPress! This system is perfect for anyone who wants clean and safe drinking water without having to worry about complex instructions or long wait times.

Revolutionary!

The Grayl Water Purifier is a revolutionary water purification system that should be in everyone’s home! And heck, it would make a great gift for that special someone!

The GeoPress uses a simple one-step process that takes just seconds to complete. You just need to prime the filter and then you’re ready to go! The fast flow rate means you can get as much clean water as you need instantly.

The value of the Grayl GeoPress water purifier far outweighs what some would consider bulk or added weight. And financially it is a more expensive choice at around $85 bucks. But, purifying on the spot is the most convenient way of guaranteeing you have the cleanest water around.

So, you can look at it in two ways. To invest in clean water for yourself for any moment under any circumstances, or give it as a gift to those you care about the most.

The Down and Dirty

  • Capacity: 24 oz / 710 ml
  • Weight: 15.9 oz. (450 g) Full: 2.5 Pounds
  • Filter Cartridge Lifespan: 350 presses (65 gal/ 250 L)
  • Flow Rate: 8 seconds per 24 oz. (5 L/minute)
  • Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Adventuring, International Travel, Survival
  • Price: Under $100.00

Even though this is a new addition to my filter family, the Geo press is going to be a great addition to having clean access to water out of the rivers and streams here in Colorado. With the abundant wildlife, you’re just not sure what type of pathogens you will run into in the backcountry.

Because this is a purifier, this will work anywhere in the world! Being able to filter out bacteria, parasites, and heavy metals is potentially one of the most important tools that you can have as a new or seasoned traveler. You can use this in the Himalayan mountains to the jungles in Brazil and Central America. Or locally around your home.

Best Usage Practices

If you are traveling on an airplane, there are two ways to deal with airport security issues. The first is to make sure your bottle is empty of water. You can do that by emptying it in the bathroom sink before you go through security or just dumping the water in the trashcan before ID check if you forget. Second, before you get on the plane, make sure your Geo press is completely full so there is no air to expand as you gain an elevation. This will keep the purifier from prematurely dumping all its contents under pressure.

When storing your purifier, two important elements you need to know about. First is do not wash the filter element with soap and water! You only want to rinse your filter element with clean water. The rest of the bottle and all its parts can be washed with soapy water. Just don’t cross-contaminate!

And this leads me to my final point. As someone that is concerned about our environment. The sheer amount of single-use plastic bottles has become so extraordinarily difficult to comprehend.

Grayl has taken the challenge head-on with its line of water purifier bottles. This bottle is BPA-free and mostly dishwasher safe (except the filter element). The company also offers a recycling program for all your old filters.

To wrap it all up…

The Grayl GeoPress Water Purifier is one of the most important pieces of gear you can add to your outdoor adventures, international travels, or everyday life. With a simple one-step process and fast flow rate, you can get clean drinking water quickly and easily without any fuss. This system is lightweight and compact so you can take it with you wherever you go. And with Grayl’s recycling program, there’s no excuse not to have one of these bad boys.

And the Grayl Geopress and their line of purifiers are the only all-in-one water bottle on the market!
